The best self-Improvement books every new entrepreneur should read:
HOW TO WIN FRIENDS AND INFLUENCE PEOPLE
How to Win Friends and Influence People, I would argue, is the greatest self-help book of all time. There is a lot to unpack for a short summary, but to be brief, Dale Carnegie’s timeless takeaway is that you can change other people’s behavior by simply changing your own. He teaches you the principles to better understand people, become a more likable person, improve relationships, win others over, and influence behavior through leadership.
OUTLIERS
Outliers taught me that success is not just about innate ability, but combined factors such as opportunity and meaningful hard work (as he specifies: 10,000 hours of mastery). Also, sometimes people are just in the right place at the right time. This book was eye-opening. Gladwell shares individual stories of triumph and emphasizes that there is no short-cut to mastery other than “putting in the hours”.
THE 7 HABITS OF HIGHLY EFFECTIVE PEOPLE
The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, first published in 1989, is a business and self-help book written by Stephen Covey. Covey presents 7 habits that successful people have. Habits 1, 2, and 3 are focused on self-mastery and moving from dependence to independence. Habits 4, 5, and 6 are focused on developing teamwork, collaboration, and communication skills, and moving from independence to interdependence.
ATOMIC HABITS
Atomic Habits is a very realistic self-help book with a unique message that starts with small changes for big results. People often think that when they want to change their life, they have to make big changes. All it really takes is fine-tuning the little habits throughout your day to day life. James Clear provides a framework to develop good habits and discontinue bad habits.
THE 5AM CLUB
Robin Sharma is a leadership and elite performance expert that teaches the concept of The 5am Club. “Own your morning, elevate your life.” The book explains that by waking up early and developing a morning routine, you are able to maximize your productivity and improve your mental clarity. The concepts of this book have stuck with me and I can truly say that it has changed my life!
CRUSH IT!
Crush it! encapsulates Gary Vaynerchuk’s best advice and motivation all in a short book. This book provides a blueprint on how to turn your passion into your life. Gary stresses the importance of finding and captivating your target audience by being a part of a passionate community. This book taught me that it’s better to ruffle a few feathers as opposed to playing it safe.
THE PRODUCTIVITY PROJECT
Chris Bailey is a productivity expert. He dedicated a year to experimenting and exploring theories on how to improve productivity. “The Productivity Project” explains that you can accomplish more by managing your time, attention, and energy. At the end of every chapter, Bailey gives you a short writing exercise to do which is extremely fun and effective!

RELENTLESS
Tim S. Grover has trained some of the greatest basketball players of all time, therefore he has first-hand knowledge of what it takes to become legendary. The book is about never being content; about driving to be the best. Relentless will enhance your mindset from the level of “good” to “great”. A perfect read for a new entrepreneur!
YOU ARE A BADASS
You are a Badass aims to help you identify and change the self-sabotaging beliefs and behaviors that stop you from getting what you want, push past your fears so you can take big exciting risks, and learn to love yourself and others.
